Imagery captured by sensors onboard the Landsat 5 and 7 satellites is stored within the California Spatial Information Library where it can be accessed by CalViewers. Landsat 5 can be accessed at Landsat 5 holdings. Landsat 7 can be accessed at Landsat 7 holdings.

CaSIL holds Landsat 5 data for 2004, and Landsat 7 data from 1999 through 2002. CalViewers can choose from monochromatic bands, or composite images of several bands such as true color (bands 3, 2 & 1) and false color (infrared bands 4, 5 & 7). 

• Landsat data are referenced with this protocol - "ln_ppprrrYYYYMMDD" where
  • ln is the Landsat mission (either 5 or 7)
  • ppp is the path
  • rrr is the row
  • YYYYMMDD is the acquisition date.
    

CaSIL also holds Previews for CalViewers to use to get an overview of the considerably larger GeoTiff images that constitute CalView's Landsat scenes.
